Shaftesbury School is a secondary coeducational day and boarding school situated in the English county of Dorset, Shaftesbury. Once a voluntary-run Church of England school run by Dorset County Council and the Diocese of Salisbury In June 2014, the school changed its status from parish to academy under the Diocese of Salisbury. The original "Blue Coat School" was established in Shaftesbury in 1718, and the school has been providing boarding since 1898. There are just 39 state boarding schools in England, including this one.
