South Island School

The South Island School Admission Process is as mentioned below:-

The South Island School is currently accepting applications. Through the ESF Online Admission System (OAS) the applications for entry to their school are made.

• Step 1: Determine Enrolment Age & Year Group
• In ESF schools, in the same calendar year all children in a year group are born. From August to June the academic year runs. To the "How to Determine Your Year Group" please refer.
• Step 2: Check School Zoning
• Into ESF South Island School to be considered for admission, in their catchment area you have to be residing.
• Step 3: Admission Criteria & Priority
• The ESF schools are non-selective. The admission criteria is that the students must demonstrate sufficient English language skills so that from a mainstream English-medium learning environment they can benefit.
• On a waiting list the applicants will be placed and when vacancies become available they will be invited to an interview or assessment.
• On the following ranked criteria priority for an interview or assessment will be based:
• 1. Corporate Nomination Rights Nominees.
• 2. At ESF or ESF Educational Services Ltd the children of full-time teaching staff.
• 3. At ESF or ESF Educational Services Ltd the children of full-time support staff.
• 4. The siblings of students enrolled at an ESF school.
• 5. Individual Nomination Rights or Class A Kindergarten Debenture Nominees.
• 6. Current students requesting an internal transfer.
• 7. The children of former students who have attended an ESF school for a minimum of three years or are former ESF students returning from a period overseas or siblings of former students who for a minimum of three years have attended and in Year 13 graduated from an ESF school.
• 8. Children nominees from universities with collaboration agreements with ESF.
• 9. Students who are qualified as an elite athlete.
• 10. The children of parents holding the ‘Top Talent pass’ for employment in HKSAR.
• 11. Students currently enrolled in an ESF pre-kindergarten program (for K1 admissions only).
• 12. Other applicants who can benefit from an English-medium education etc.
• Step 4: Submit An Online Application
• 1. Primary & Secondary
• Through the ESF Online Admission System (OAS) parents should submit online applications.
• 2. For learning children who require significant and daily support
• For Learning Support (LS)/Jockey Club Roe School applications follow a different application process. Through ESF Centre these applications are managed, to assess students with an Admissions and Review Process (ARP) and in line with the ESF Levels of Adjustment Framework make placement recommendations.
• Step 5: Assessment & Interview
• Age-appropriate assessments the students will be required to complete to determine their ability to engage with an English-medium education.
