The South Island School in Hong Kong offers scholarships, including the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme (HKSES) and the Daniel Lawton Memorial Scholarship Award.
The HKSES is a non-means-tested scholarship that supports local students in pursuing studies at world-renowned universities outside of Hong Kong. The scholarship covers tuition fees up to HK$300,000 per year, whichever is lower. The selection process involves an initial review, short listing, and a final interview round. Candidates are evaluated on both their academic performance and non-academic achievements. In 2023, three South Island School alumni were among the award winners.
The Daniel Lawton Memorial Scholarship Award is given to an accomplished clarinet player who has dedicated many years to playing. The scholarship is used to extend the recipient's studies post Grade 8.
