As part of the Wagga Wagga Diocese System of Catholic Schools, St. Francis De Sales Regional College, located in Leeton, is a Catholic school that offers weekly boarding as well as day students secondary co-education. It is located in the Wagga Wagga Diocese's Leeton Parish. Via the Boarding House, students from surrounding Parishes and remote students from the region are also served. There were 140 male students at the college when it opened in 1956 (100 day and 40 boarders). Under Brother Matthew Hopkins' direction, the Marist Brothers ran the college. The grounds were extended in 1958, and the Grotto and Fishpond were built.
The purpose of St. Francis De Sales Regional College is to participate in the Church's evangelizing ministry by bearing witness to and carrying out Jesus's mission. In the spirit of theirr founders, St. Francis de Sales, St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop, and Marcellin Champagnat, they pass on Catholic doctrine, customs, and values. They give students a space to realize their potential for intellectual, social, spiritual, and personal development. They strive to give every student a feeling of community within the school and collaborate with parents in their child's education. Relationships within the College are founded on the potential for goodness in every person, as well as dignity and respect, given that they are all created in God's image. The values are:
Faith
Learning
Care
Service
Stewardship
