Application Requirements

  • - Boys can apply to St James Senior Boys' School for admission into Year 7 at age 11, Year 9 at age 13, and also into the Sixth Form.
  • - Application for Year 9 positions can be made in Year 7 and Year 8, with 12+ and 13+ pre-tests available.
  • - There are 60 slots open for Year 7 spread across three forms, with an additional 20 places added in Year 9. The Year 9 forms are then restructured into four new forms.
  • - Pre-testing for Year 7 entry is also available to boys in Year 5 via a 10+ pre-test.
  • - Applicants should send in their filled-out registration forms to the admissions office by the end of November.
  • - Entrance examinations are set for December, covering English, Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning. The exam papers are standardized 11+ tests provided by GL Assessment.
  • - All applicants and their parents will have interviews with a senior staff member.
