School History & Details

St Joseph’s School was established in 1934 by The Sisters of Mercy for the education of Nottingham's Catholic community. The school was initially tied to the Diocese and Saint Barnabas’ Cathedral. The school control shifted from the Sisters to a Trust in 1990, which still upholds the school's original ethos and standards. St Joseph’s embraces multiculturalism and includes children from different faiths. The school introduced a 51-week Nursery and has built close ties with other notable schools in Nottingham. The children at St Joseph’s regularly earn scholarships and the school receives positive feedback from senior schools on the children's progress. It continues to add new opportunities for its students and provides a variety of sports and arts activities.
