Frances Oldham Kelsey, M.D. (1931) Dr. Kelsey was honoured with the Order of Canada on July 1 for her part in keeping the medication thalidomide out of the United States in the 1960s. Jennifer Carleton (2007) road and track cyclist from Canada. In the women's team pursuit at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Carleton took home the bronze medal. Before it was typical for women to pursue careers in medicine, Dr. Joyce Clearihue (1943) pioneered one. Patricia A. Gilliam (1955) Upon her graduation from Harvard University, Ms. Gilliam went on to become a reputable advisor to Fortune 500 businesses and a successful Wall Street securities analyst.
