St. Michael's School is a private day and boarding school for students aged 3-18 in Llanelli, Wales. The school is divided into four sections: Pre-Preparatory, Preparatory, Senior, and Sixth Form. The school, founded in 1923 by brothers Bill and Percy Rees, has been located in the east Llanelli settlement of Bryn since 1928. When the Rees brothers retired, Mr. Vaughan-Evans, a former head boy, was named headmaster in 1962. Founding Headmaster Bill Rees believed that his son Percival A.E. Rees would become Headmaster following his father's retirement; instead, he was ordained to the priesthood and went to serve as a vicar in India before returning to the UK in 1968. St David's residence, the school's main edifice, dates back to the nineteenth century and was previously a huge residence owned by a local industrialist. The school's Pre-Preparatory School is located in The Royal Oak, a converted former public house that was purchased by the school in 2012.
