School History & Details

In 1884, St. Paul's College was founded on Pitt Street as a Marist School. After Sacred Heart College was moved to Glen Innes, St. Paul's College, Ponsonby, was established in 1955. The foundation of Marist education is a genuinely holistic perspective that actively works to spread gospel ideals. The Marist Brothers' founder, Saint Marcellin Champagnat, held that "in order to raise children properly, we must love them, and love them all equally." The early Marists derived their unique vision for education from this idea.
