In October 2001 the Stafford Sri Lankan School Doha (SSLSD) was inaugurated, under the patronage of H.E. Meerasahib Mahroof, then Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Qatar. H.E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Qatar is the Patron of the school. By a Board of Trustees, the school is governed.
From Lower Reception to Advanced Level, the SSLSD now offers education. The Edexcel Curriculum the school follows. For the Key Stage I & II (SAT) examinations administered by Edexcel U.K the students in Year 2 & Year 6 sit.
By the Supreme Education Council of Qatar, the SSLSD is an approved educational institute and is known as the Sri Lankan Community School. By Edexcel International (UK) the school is also an Approved Examination Centre which grants the students to sit for the Edexcel IGCSE and GCE examinations. In the beginning, with 25 students the school was a nursery and it has vastly progressed over the years.
Independent learning in Lower Reception Classes the Montessori methods are used to enhance as it invites the children to engage in learning activities of their own choice, under the guidance and expertise of their teachers. Through discovery the children in the Lower Reception learn, using the materials to cultivate ideas and self-discipline.
With well-qualified and experienced teachers the SSLSD is blessed to train and guide the children.
In every aspect the SSLSD strives to achieve excellence; in the end, successful men and women students become contributing towards the betterment of society.
Their vision is to produce globally eminent men and women who for their academic excellence are held in high esteem and the strength of character with high ideals and responsibilities.
And the mission is that within a spirit of nationalism and internationalism develop all the students, through the medium of English, giving them the knowledge, attitudes, and skills essential to enable them to be useful citizens of society.
In both curricular and co-curricular activities the entire education program includes a focus on the four pillars of education for the 21st century as expounded by UNESCO; Learning to live, Learning to do, Learning to know, and Learning to be, etc.

Achievements

At the IGCSE, IAS, IAL, and IPLS Examinations held in June 2022, the Stafford Sri Lankan School excels. AS and A2 Achievements: At the AS level and A2 levels the students have achieved an impressive pass percentage of 84.3% and 96.2% respectively. At the IAL (AS) level, ten students achieved 4As, while at the IAL (A2) level, one student Hemaanth Sivakumar achieved 4A*s. Further, for all the subjects they sat for, 10 others have achieved either A or A*. IGCSE Achievements: For the IGCSE examination the students who sat, their overall pass percentage was an impressive 100%. At the IGCSE (9-1) level the best result is recorded as nine 9s achieved by Malshi Savidya and Reema Rauff. Edexcel Primary & Secondary Achievements: At the Grade 6 Edexcel primary Achievement test a 100% pass rate was recorded for all three subjects - English language, Mathematics, and Science. For all 3 subjects, 17 students achieved P3 (which is the highest level a student can achieve). For the Edexcel Lower Secondary Achievement Test the students who sat achieved a pass percentage of over 90% in English language, Mathematics, and Science, and for all three subjects 7 students achieved S4s. To all the students on their performance the school congratulates them, and for bringing laurels to their alma mater commends them. The SSLSD management and the academic staff congratulate all the students and their parents on their remarkable achievements and hope that the other students, these results will encourage as well towards "excellence" to work, upholding the school’s motto ‘Strive for Excellence’. Also, at the Edexcel IPLS, IGCSE, and IAL examinations 2019 top achievements: Three global top achievers. Six Middle East Top Achievers. And Three Qatar top achievers. Edexcel IPLS, IGSCE, IAL examinations 2020 -100% pass rate and outstanding Center Assessed grades, etc & if any.

Non-Academic Achievements

In the school history for the first time, in the academic year 2019/20 the senior sports meet was held in the Aspire Dome. The school Cricket team three students were qualified to play for the under-19 Qatar National Cricket team. Between the SSLSD and Qatar Basketball Federation, a memorandum of understanding was signed on 12th February 2020; Valuable Basketball equipment was received. In the Annual School Olympics 2019/20 the students participated; four teams participated and for further rounds, two were selected. In the hockey games organized by the Qatar Hockey Federation, the school hockey team participated. In several competitions, the students participated, including the team events in basketball, cricket, football, hockey, netball, throwball, and volleyball, among Garnet, Topaz, and Emerald houses. Among the contestants within the houses events like marathons and relays witnessed tight competition. For 2019 the Garnet House became the champion while the Emerald House was declared the runner-up. To the volunteer coaches,  appreciation awards were given who had been helping the school in developing sports. Also, from 2014 to 2015 and 2015 to 2016, the Stafford Sri Lankan School won the boy's junior basketball championship and in the boy's 200 meters relay at the last championship, their junior athletic team won a silver medal. In that event, the senior girls also won a gold medal. From Nigeria, Samanda Olayola emerged as a champion of the boy's junior long jump event in the 2014 to 2015 championship, etc & if any.
