The Cambridge high school was established in the year 1988 and was the first school opened by GEMS in Abu Dhabi. The school offers outstanding teaching with numerous facilities. The school is having National Curriculum of British for Years FS2 to Year 13. It prepares students for the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE). The waiting list for the school is very long. According to reports, in the past schools is having a waiting list of nearly 800 students who wants to join. There are nearly 1,780 students of 45 different nationalities. The campus of CHS is very spacious and located in Mohammed Bin Zayed city. The school aims to provide quality education to its students.

In academics, students are rated as good by ADEK. The school provides outstanding added value to its students. For 812 examinations, students are awarded the highest A grade score. In 2021, a student won H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Award.
