The Hall School was established in 1958 as a boys-only institution catering to those aged 5 to 7 years. It was primarily aimed at preparing the boys for subsequent education in the nearby Preparatory Schools. Two years after its inception, in 1960, the school shifted to The Grange Country House, where it still stands. This historical building in Northwood previously belonged to the family of a former headmistress of St Helen’s Girls’ School. When she passed away, she left The Grange to the local council with the directive that it be used for the community's benefit. Consequently, The Grange occasionally serves as the venue for local events and weddings, particularly during the evenings after school and on weekends. Over the years, The Hall School transitioned into a co-ed institution, and it now admits both boys and girls, ranging in age from 3 months to five years.
