IIS Al-Majma'ah started modestly in the year 2006, and ever since then, the management has worked to improve the facilities and teaching quality for the students. It is a community-based school that was established with funding from the community and is operated in a non-profit manner. It is founded on the Charter of Indian Schools in the Kingdom and operates under the direction of the Ministry of Education (MOE), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). English is used as the instruction language. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, India, sets the curriculum that the school must adhere to.
