The International School Of Penang (uplands) was established in 1995, on the top of Penang Hill in a colonial hotel, for the children of expatriate families in Malaya as a British preparatory boarding school. In George Town in 1976 it was relocated to a historic, former catholic seminary site, and in September 2006 moved once again into into purpose-built facilities in the heart of Batu Feringgi, the island’s beach resort.
This school is a not-for-profit, co-educational Primary and Secondary School (Year 1 to Year 13) with boarding facilities, to children aged 5 to 18 years old open, etc.

Achievements

In comparison to world average scores in each year of the program, the Uplands students have achieved great success, since its inception in 2001. The school congratulates their students of 2022 1. Average of 35.5 points. 2. Four Bilingual Diplomas awarded. 3. More than 30% of students achieved over 40 points. 4. One student with a perfect score of 45 points. 5. Two students with a score of 44 points. 6. Over USD1 million in scholarships awarded. IGCSE at Uplands While academically non-selective, a very high percentage of its overall IGCSE examination results at or above a B-grade the Uplands has consistently achieved. In its 60 years of operation, the eight years have seen Uplands achieve its best results, being of B-grade or above with an 8-year average of 73% of all grades, etc.
