The Ramakrishna Vivekananda Vidyamandir, Deoghar

The founding director of the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Vidyamandir is hri Samarendra Nath Kar. The eldest child of Shri Narendra Nath Kar and Smt. Shantilata Kar, he was born on July 23, 1940. Shri Kar finished his higher education in 1965 with a B.Sc. (Chemistry) from B.B. College, Asansol, after receiving his early education from a government institution. He held a variety of jobs, most of them in colliery areas, before founding a reputable school in Deoghar. It was then that he was profoundly impacted by the divinity of Maa Sarada, Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, and their deserving follower, Sri Swami Vivekananda.

Ten boys were enrolled in the institution's English-medium residential school, Tripura Kutir, located in Williams Town, Deoghar, on January 18, 1983. In 1985, the campus moved to Kunda, which is close to the well-known Kundeshwari temple, in order to better support the academic development and advancement of the students. In 1988, the university moved permanently to Jasidih-Rohini Road. The school has made impressive strides toward growth and progress by giving its students access to all the amenities they need while maintaining the rich traditions and culture of the institution.
