The Storm King School (SKS) is an independent coeducational boarding and day school in the state of New York, USA. Established in 1867, it is one of New York's oldest residential schools. It is a college preparatory school for students in grades 8 through post-graduate, with an enrollment of 195 and 37 staff members living on or near campus throughout the year. The institution accepts students from 27 nations. 75% of students board, while 25% attend classes during the day. 53% are men and 47% are women. The Storm King School was founded in 1867 as the Cornwall Heights School. Dr. Louis P. Ledoux,[10], an Amherst College and Union Theological Seminary graduate and pastor of the Cornwall Presbyterian Church, created the school in response to calls to establish "a Christian school in the home of a Christian gentleman." Ledoux purchased Wood Farm on Storm King Mountain's northern slope, where he trained young men for New England institutions until 1872 when he sold his stake in the school to Oren S Cobb.
