The Thornton Academy Fee Details are as mentioned below:-
1. FULL YEAR BOARDING TUITION
a. 2024-25 Full Year Boarding Tuition, Room, and Board:
$52,300.
b. Additional required fees:
Student Life Fee - $3,000.
Health Insurance - $2,200.
Incidental Account - $1,000.
Security Deposit - $500.
2. ONE SEMESTER BOARDING TUITION
a. 2024-25 One Semester Boarding Tuition, Room, and Board:
$27,600.
b. Additional required fees:
Student Life Fee - $1,500.
Health Insurance - $1,100.
Incidental Account - $1,000.
Security Deposit - $500.
3. UPPER SCHOOL DAY TUITION
2024-25 Upper School Day Tuition: $15,500.
4. MIDDLE SCHOOL DAY TUITION
2024-25 Middle School Day Tuition: $15,100.
The Thornton Academy Financial Aid includes International Student Financial Aid, Upper School Financial Aid, Middle School Financial Aid, etc.
Although a detailed fee structure is not provided by the school.
To students, the Thornton Academy offers merit-based and other scholarships. To all interested students, their goal is to make a Thornton Academy education financially accessible. Supplemental application many of these scholarships require, and the Clarity Financial Aid Application some also require.
1. PILLARS SCHOLARSHIP:
a. Available for new day students entering grades 6-12.
b. Award amount: $2,500 (one-time).
c. Scholarship application deadline: Alongside admission materials the Pillars Scholarship application must be submitted at the time of application. After July 15 the Scholarship awards may be limited.
2. MOULTON SCHOLARSHIP FOR SCARBOROUGH RESIDENTS:
a. Available for new students entering grades 6-12.
b. Must be a current resident of Scarborough, Maine.
c. Award amount: varies.
d. Scholarship application deadline: Alongside admission materials the Moulton Scholarship application must be submitted at the time of application. After July 15 the Scholarship awards may be limited.
3. TROJAN SCHOLARSHIP
a. For domestic and international boarding students, it is available.
b. Grades 6-12.
c. Award amount: ranges from $2,000 - $15,000.
d. At the same time as application for admission the scholarship must be applied for.
4. NEW ENGLAND SCHOLARSHIP
a. Available for boarding students entering grades 6-12.
b. Must be a current resident of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, or Connecticut; and/or Maine vacation property owners.
c. From $2,000 - $15,000 annually the award amount varies.
5. UNE COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP
To the children and stepchildren of all benefit-eligible employees of The University of New England the Thornton Academy’s UNE Community Scholarship is available.
a. $2,500 per year, as long as the employee remains benefit-eligible renewable, and in good standing the student remains.
b. No additional scholarship application is required.
d. With other scholarships and financial aid may be combined.
