The United World College of the Adriatic (UWC Adriatic) is an international Baccalaureate school in Duino, Italy. It was founded in 1982 by German educator Kurt Hahn and is the first UWC established in a non-English-speaking country.
UWC Adriatic's mission is to help students become active, involved, and educated citizens. The school's educational program promotes five strands of values-based education:-
1. Academic program.
2. Service-based learning.
3. Ecological and outdoor education.
4. Engagement in physical and cultural activities.
5. Social and emotional learning.
UWC Adriatic is located in a coastal village in the northeast of Italy, 25 kilometers away from Trieste. The school is integrated into the village of Duino, with school buildings and facilities interspersed with residential and commercial properties, etc.
