The Victoria Shanghai Academy (VSA) was established in 2004 and is an IB World School, located in Shum Wan next to the Aberdeen Harbour. Over 2,000 students the school provides quality bilingual IB education through the three programs it offers - Primary Years Program (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP), and Diploma Program (DP). In Hong Kong, VSA is a private independent, non-denominational, co-educational day school established under the auspices of the Shanghai Victoria Education Foundation Limited, a registered charitable body. VSA is a student-centred community of academic and personal excellence, combining international perspectives and Chinese heritage. A holistic approach the VSA emphasizes the heart of which is inquiry teaching and learning. Bilingual education the primary section offers (English and Mandarin); in English, the secondary curriculum is delivered by a strong Chinese program.

The Victoria Shanghai Academy is pleased to congratulate the Class of 2023 for its impressive International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma results this year. The cohort achieved a 100% pass rate and an average mean score of 37.4 to date. In 2023, the average IB score was 37.4, and in a row for the sixth year, its average score was above 36 points. Five students achieved a near-perfect 44 points. Overall, VSA students have performed well, scoring an average of 37.4 points, which is 7.16 points higher than the global average. VSA’s 100% IB Diploma pass rate is also well above the global pass rate of 79.3 percent. Graduating students predominantly study at universities in the UK, US, and Australia, as well as Hong Kong etc.

Notable Alumni

In 2012 the VSA Alumni Association was established when the importance of establishing a network VSA i.e. to connect the ever-growing students who from VSA graduated every year. The Association promotes unity and fellowships amongst current students and graduates of the Academy, promotes activities, fosters alumni networks and contacts in Hong Kong and overseas, as well as for the development and advancement of the Academy raises funds. Since the Alumni Association's establishment, across different countries, members have been actively involved in gatherings, homecoming activities as well and university/career sharing with students of the Academy. The Association aims to continue the VSA spirit in the years to come etc.
