School History & Details

Established in 1821 by the bequest of Mrs. Hannah Villiers, Villiers is Ireland's preeminent national and international educational institution. The Board of Governors, the Board of Management, and the Head of School work together to oversee Villiers, which has a Protestant character. In 1953, the school moved from Henry Street to its present site on the Tivoli campus, which is situated less than a mile from Limerick's downtown on North Circular Road.
