Established in 1957, Welham Girls School is a girl's school situated in Dehradun. Founded by Miss H.S. Oliphant who has a desire to create an equal educational platform for young Indian women in independent India. She was very focused and acquired Nawab's estate in Dehradun to give shape to her dream. She provided the responsibility to start this boarding school for girls to Miss Grace Mary Linnell, who is an experienced educationist and head of Girls College in Hyderabad. Now the community has grown from ten students to its current strength of 540 students. The school is still working hard to provide all the possible facilities to its girls and make them young independent women.

The school has good academic achievements. Around 30 students score above 95% in ISC Board examinations and 46 score more than 95 in ICSE examinations. Students also participate in inter-school and national level competitions.
