As Jubilee Integrated Secondary School, Yusof Ishak Secondary School first opened its doors in 1965. A total of 984 students and 37 teachers from two streams—English and Malay—were enrolled in this integrated school, which provided secondary education. The Yusof Ishak Secondary School (YISS) in Jubilee Road was opened on July 29, 1966, by the then-prime minister, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. We are the only school that bears the name of a former president of our country. We made history in 1992 by topping the value-added rankings in both the Express and Normal Streams.
Fostering our Yusoffians' curiosity, creativity, and self-assurance, enabling them to be lifelong learners who contribute to the greater good.
