Peking University is a public university which was established in 1898. The university is located in Haidian District, Beijing, China. The university is the first national university in Chinese modern history. The university also served as the highest administration for education in China at the beginning of its founding. The University has a campus in Shenzhen and comprises a Shenzhen Graduate School. 

Peking University consists of five faculties: Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences, Medicine, and Information and Engineering. The University has 53 colleges and departments and offers 120 undergraduate programs, 242 graduate programs, and 212 doctoral programs.
