Established in 1841, the Queens University is a public research university located in the city of Kingston, on the shores of Lake Ontario, in Canada, mid-way between Montreal and Toronto, and near the entrance of the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO world heritage site. It is one of the oldest degree-granting institutions in Canada. The university is a member of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada and has 57 Rhodes Scholars associated with it.
The Queen’s University comprises of various faculties: Faculty of Arts and Sciences; Faculty of Education; Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science; Faculty of Health Sciences; School of Graduate Studies; Faculty of Law; School of Business; and School of Policy Studies. The Queens is renowned for its research strengths in several areas, including computational science, engineering, globalisation studies, mental health, clinical biomedical sciences, sustainable energy systems and social issues such as poverty and bullying.
