Established in 1878, the UNIVERSITÉ DE MONTRÉA (UdeM) is a public research university located in Montreal, Canada. The university's main campus is located on the northern slope of Mont-Royal in the Outremont and Côte-des-Neigesboroughs. UdeM was founded as the satellite campus of Universite of Laval but became an independent institution in 1919.
The university offers various undergraduate and graduate programs through 13 faculties: Faculty of Arts and Science; Faculty of Dentistry; Faculty of Education; Faculty of Environmental Design; Faculty of Kinesiology; Faculty of Law; Faculty of Medicine; Faculty of Music; Faculty of Optometry; Faculty of Nursing; and School of Public Health. It also has two affiliated schools: the École Polytechnique (School of Engineering) and HEC Montréal (School of Business).
