Established in 1848 as the College of Bytown, the University of Ottawa is a bilingual public research university located in Ottawa, Canada. It is the largest bilingual (English – French) university in the world. It is a member of the U15, a group of research-intensive universities in Canada.
The university provides various undergraduate and graduate programs through its 10 schools and faculties: Faculty of Arts; Faculty of Civil Law; Faculty of Common Law; Faculty of Education; Faculty of Engineering; Faculty of Health Sciences; Faculty of Medicine; Faculty of Science; Faculty of Social Sciences; and Telfer School of Management. The University of Ottawa offers over 450 programmes and is home to the largest law school in the country.
