The University of Rhode Island is a public research university with a main campus in Kingston, RI and smaller campuses in Providence, Narragansett and West Greenwich. Founded in 1892, URI is the only research institution in the state offering comprehensive undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs, and is the only public land grant, sea grant and urban university for Rhode Island.
