Situated in St. Louis Missouri, Washington University is a privately endowed research university which was established in 1853 named after George Washington, the university has students and faculty from all 50 States and more than 120 countries.Concerns about the lack of higher education institution in the Midwest led to the establishment of the university. The 1904 Olympics, the third Olympics event in modern times was held at Francis Field on the campus on the university.

The university offers more than 90 fields of study. Its biology department and the medical schools are nationally recognized and highly regarded.
