Yale University Background
Yale University is a private Ivy League University which was founded in 1701 in Connecticut. It is also known as the birthplace of doctoral education in the United States as it awarded the first three Ph.D. degrees in the country followed by the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard and Princeton in 1870, 1872 and 1879 respectively. Yale University offers a number of courses through its various schools: Yale College, Graduate School of Arts and Science, School of Architecture, School of Arts, Divinity School, School of Drama, School of Engineering and Applied Science, School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, Law School, School of Management, School of Medicine, School of Music, School of Nursing and School of Public Health.
