Our Student Success Story.

My name is Shrey, and I applied to Canada and UK. I will be pursuing business. In Canada, I applied to Ivey Business School at Western University, Smith School of Business at Queen’s University, Desautels Faculty of Business at McGill, Sauder School of Business at UBC, and DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University.

I got into Ivey, Sauder, and DeGroote and I am still waiting for a decision from Queen’s and McGill. In the UK, I applied to Warwick, Nottingham, Leeds, Manchester, and Cass School of Business and got into all five of them.

I also got a scholarship of $6000 from McMaster and I was nominated for the National Scholarship Program of Western University from my school, which is still under process. Since I applied for business in Canada, I had to complete an additional supplementary application for all schools except McGill. In my experience, the application for the UK was much easier than the Canadian applications since there are no individual applications for each university and UCAS makes life much easier.

I had to write a bunch of emails to the Canadian universities I applied to since there were many technical problems. For Ivey business school at western, I had to write 2 essays of 500 words each for 2 activities that demonstrated leadership. Additionally, I wrote 4 more optional essays on activities I completed in High School. For Queen’s, the supplementary application consisted of essays on 3 questions, out of which I could choose any two.

I had to give a video interview for only one supplementary application, which was the application for Sauder at UBC, along with writing 7 essays. For McMaster, the supplementary application was optional as it was for a scholarship for students who have applied for a business degree. I had to write answers to few questions like the ones asked in the other applications.

I applied to the UK in November and the application was very straightforward in my opinion without any problems. I just had to write one personal statement and submit my predicted grades. In Canada, only Queen’s and UBC accepted predicted grades whereas the rest needed my interim marks. Since I applied early to the UK, I got most of my acceptances by late 2020.

I would like to thank Mr.Varun and Mrs. Ashwini for helping me with everything, from my essays to interviews to the whole application process. Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to create a strong application.
