Brief history of Universities Participating.

Washington State University was Founded in 1890 in Pullman, WA as the state of Washington’s Land Grant University. Since then, WSU has grown to a Tier 1 research university educating students from all over the world at  5 campuses across the state.

WSU faculty are renowned experts in their fields, including 11 National Academy members.

  • Scholarship opportunities.

International students are automatically considered for scholarships upon admission to WSU. High-achieving international students are guaranteed to receive the International Academic Award. This award is $2,000 or $4000 annually, depending on qualifications. WSU's Office of International Programs automatically awards these scholarships to qualifying students who are offered admission to a bachelor's degree program.

  • Freshman awards – renewable for 3 years – are available to students who have less than 1 year of college credit.
  • Transfer awards – renewable for 2 years – are available to students who have earned at least 1 year (27 semester hours) of transferable college credit

Additionally, international students may be eligible for a variety of other awards from the university and can be considered by applying to the  general scholarship fund.

Dr. Daniel Saud, Director of Undergraduate International Admissions, Recruitment & Marketing.

Daniel’s career spans over a decade with positions in graduate and international admissions at various colleges and universities, including Ross University of Medicine and Health Sciences, American University of Antigua/Manipal Global Education Consortium, and Rosalind Franklin University – Chicago Medical School. He earned his doctoral degree from Vanderbilt University Peabody College of Education under the mentorship of Dr. John Braxton. His doctoral dissertation examined the impact of financial aid and loan-free initiatives on international and marginalized college students at elite private universities.

Born in Pakistan and raised in Canada, Daniel came to the United States as an F-1 student. His undergraduate degrees are in biochemistry and international studies from Hawaii Pacific University and his master’s degree is in higher education from Merrimack College. He credits his undergrad experience as an international admissions ambassador and his time as a DAAD Fellow studying in Berlin for pursuing a career in international education.
