Tips to crack university admission interview

It is a dream for every student to study at the best universities but only some get the chance to really do it. One of the main reasons for this is not getting proper guidance on how to get the quality of education that you deserve. So as a solution we have provided several tips on how to prepare for university interviews.

Know the University- First thing to be considered is choosing the university that is providing the courses you want to pursue. Read about the university and choose the best one you can get in. Then we start focusing on the admission process and search for entrance exams and prepare for it that will make you eligible for the university interview.

Knowledge of your subject- When you receive an invitation for a university or college interview, you must pay attention to the subject you have applied for, you should have proper and detailed knowledge of the course and why you want to study it.

Prior work experience details- If you have any past work experience then you should be accurate about it and be honest about the role in that job.

Body language and eye contact – More than 90 percent of communication is non-verbal and that is why it is so important to focus on your physical cues. Interviewers evaluate a student on the basis of how we represent ourselves. Good confidence and enthusiasm keep the interviewer engaged in our conversation Increasing the chances of our selection.

Carry proper documentation – You should have your resume, mark sheets, and entrance exam result with you. Basically, all the documents that prove you are eligible for the interview and all the documents and certificates that show your strengths in the field of study.

Prepare your answers – An interviewer asks a question to judge the student on the basis of the documentation provided and how much you know about the field of study. We can prepare for such questions by gaining knowledge of the field you are going to pursue and by knowing our own strengths and weaknesses. Introspecting and understanding your life goal and how this course is going to help you achieve that will give you some good answers.

Showcasing skills – Showcase your skills that are needed by the course with certification proof or any anecdote. Try to excel in the conversation in the fields you have strengths and how it could help you get better in the course or in the field.

Resolve all your queries – We should understand that an interview is a two-way process. The interviewer is trying to know that you are eligible while you are trying to understand how this university works and what you will have to face after getting admission. Any questions about the university should be cleared then and there. Asking questions also helps you look interested in the course and gives a few more topics to talk about making the conversation interesting.

Be specific with your answers- While being questioned in an interview, you should never try to be over-friendly with the interviewer and limit yourself to the questions you are asked confidently.

Look fresh and confident- In an interview, your first impression matters! You must try to get enough sleep and look fresh on your interview day which will boost your confidence.

Arrive on time- one of the most important things is to arrive on time, you should never keep people waiting for you, especially in an interview, it talks a lot about the seriousness you have for the things you do in your life.

Thank Everyone – Leaving someone with a good impression is as important as entering the room with confidence. So shake everyone’s hand with enthusiasm before leaving and thank them for giving you their time.
