The JASSO or Japan Student Services Organization Scholarships are merit-based scholarships offered by the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies to students who are in financial need to pursue further education. The scholarships are classified into Class 1, Class 2, and JASSO Support fund and are offered to both local and international and undergraduate and graduate students who wish to study the entire course in Japan or a semester overseas.
Eligibility Criteria/Scholarship Guidelines:
- The scholarship is granted to students who demonstrate financial need and have been affected by a natural disaster or sudden change in household such as unemployment, bankruptcy, death, or illness.
- The scholarships are also offered to students who wish to study overseas for a degree, or attend a short-term study abroad program.
How to apply:
An applicant can apply for the scholarship at the university by submitting the application form along with the other required documents.
Class 1 Scholarships varies from JPY 20,000 to JPY 122,000 as per the program stanClass 2 Scholarships varies from JPY 10,000 to JPY 150,000 as per the program standard. JASSO Support Fund offers JPY 100,000 subsidy.
