The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship is provided to college sophomores and juniors who aim to study research careers in the natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering. Approximately 450 students nationwide receive a Goldwater Scholarship each year.
Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines
To be eligible for nomination for a Goldwater Scholarship:
A Student should be a full-time matriculated sophomore or junior.
A Student should intend to study a research career in natural science, mathematics or engineering, as defined by the Goldwater Scholarship’s Conditions of Eligibility.
Have a competitive GPA of at least a 3.0, and usually 3.6 or higher.
A Student should be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
A Student should be nominated by a faculty member, in an email sent to ODS during the current application year.
