The combined Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Optometry (BS/OD) program between the University of Hartford (UHart) and the New England College of Optometry (NECO) provides a unique opportunity for students with career goals in optometry. The accelerated program typically allows for the completion of the BS/OD degrees in a seven-year period. The BS/OD program is for the academically outstanding student with strong, realistic motivation toward the optometric profession. Initial study at the University of Hartford allows the student to complete the general education and basic science requirements for the BS in health science degree and the prerequisites necessary for professional study.
Completed High School with a score of 70% (out of 100), IELTS of 6.0, TOEFL ibT of 80, Pearsons of 58, Letters of Recommendation, GCSE or GCE English Pass (syllabus A) with grade of A, B or C, Mathematics, Natural/Physical Science and Social Science, GPA of 2.75 (out of 4.0), IB English A1 or A2 with grade of 3 or higher, Academic Records and transcripts, IB English A1 or A2 with grade of 3 or higher, SAT Evidence based reading / writing 480 or higher.
