Program Overview

Community health planning prepares you for careers in public health agencies, volunteer and private health and community organizations, hospitals and other health and care settings. With the minor, you will learn the fundamentals of public health. Field work in health education with a supervised teaching or agency experience is also acquired, as well as grant writing skills, planning and evaluation of programs. You'll also study the need for organized community health efforts by looking at the problems of chronic and communicable diseases, environmental health and world health, and look at the public and private agencies involved in their solutions.
