4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of Technology Sydney

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Honours) (Interior Architecture stream) at University of Technology Sydney is designed for students who want to shape the spaces people live, work, and interact in—both indoors and outdoors. If you’re someone who enjoys creativity but also cares about sustainability and real-world impact, this course helps you turn those ideas into meaningful, future-ready designs.

Curriculum Structure

First Year:
You’ll begin by learning how to see and think like a designer. Through subjects like Landscape Architecture Studio 1, Communications 1, and Landscape History and Theory 1, you’ll explore how spaces are formed and represented, while building core skills in drawing, modelling, and understanding natural site conditions like land, water, and climate.

Second Year:
This is where things start to connect on a bigger scale. With units such as Ecology, Urbanisms, and Landscape Architecture Studio 3, you’ll learn how natural systems and cities interact, and how to design spaces that are not just visually appealing but also environmentally responsible and functional.

Third Year:
Now you’ll move into more complex, real-world design challenges. Subjects like Landscape Architecture Studio 5, Grading and Site Works, and Landscape History and Theory 3 help you understand how to design for diverse communities, focusing on usability, inclusivity, and how spaces can support everyday life in meaningful ways.

Fourth Year:
In your final year, everything comes together. Through Landscape Architecture Studio 7, Studio 8, Practice: Research Cultures, and Finance and Project Management, you’ll work on a major project that reflects your personal design approach, while also learning how to manage projects and collaborate professionally—just like in the industry.

  • Digital design tools: Build skills in 3D modelling, digital imaging, and emerging technologies like 3D printing to visualise your ideas
