The Bachelor of Accounting / Bachelor of Business is a flexible double degree that blends rigorous accounting training with broad business insights — perfect for students who want both technical financial expertise and the versatility to thrive in many business roles. Throughout this program, you’ll learn how to interpret financial data, make strategic business decisions, and adapt to evolving challenges in areas like technology, innovation, and leadership.
Curriculum Structure
Year 1
In your first year, you'll lay the foundation with eight core subjects spanning business, accounting, and law. Courses such as Business Decision Making, Understanding the Business Environment, Accounting in Organisations and Society, and Integrated Perspectives on Business Problems help you understand how accounting fits into real businesses, while also developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This year is very much about building your base — you’ll explore how business works, how law influences it, and how accounting drives responsible decision-making.
Year 2
Moving into your second year, you’ll deepen your knowledge with core units like Accounting Data Analytics and Visualisation, Cost Analysis and Organisational Decisions, Managerial Advisory Finance, and Taxation 1. You’ll also start picking a direction by choosing electives from your major or minors. This stage is where you begin applying your accounting learning to real business problems, analysing data, navigating corporate finance law, and developing advisory skills.
Year 3
In the third year, your learning becomes more specialised and advanced. You’ll take core accounting courses such as Accounting, Behaviour and Organisations; Critical Accounting Perspectives; and Auditing, alongside your chosen business major subjects. This year is about exploring accounting’s human side, grappling with ethical and organisational issues, and understanding how audits and risk management shape business transparency.
Year 4
Your final year culminates in a capstone experience. You’ll complete Strategic Accounting and Leadership, and a Business Graduate Folio — a work-integrated-learning course where you collaborate with industry partners to build a professional portfolio. Alongside, you’ll finish up your remaining elective or major courses. By the end, you’ll not only master technical accounting skills, but you’ll also be ready to present yourself as a confident, industry-ready professional.
