Course Overview

  • Year 1: Accounting for Decision Making, Principles Of Economics, Principles Of Data Analysis for Business, Introduction to Management Concepts and Application

  • Year 2: The Future of Work: Seminar Series

  • Year 3: Professional Internship, or Multidisciplinary Project, or Independent Project

  • Majors Available: Business Intelligence and InformationSystems, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Human Resources Management Major, International Business Major, Management Major, Marketing for the Digital Age 

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

Work Integrated Learning (WIL):

  • Embedded throughout the program starting in Year 1

  • Includes internships, industry placements, and multidisciplinary projects

  • Final-year capstone subject includes a business internship or industry project

  • Students working full-time can complete a project with their current employer

Professional Development Program:

  • An optional, structured program to enhance employability skills

  • Focuses on real-world business problem-solving and leadership development

Mentoring Opportunities:

  • Townsville students can join the Townsville Chamber of Commerce – JCU Mentoring Program

  • Final-year students are paired with professionals (often JCU alumni)

  • One-on-one mentoring, networking events, and career planning support

Australian Public Service Academy Campus:

  • Townsville-based students (after one year of study) can apply for part-time digital and data roles

  • May lead to full-time employment post-graduation
