3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of Melbourne

Program Overview

Program Overview

If you’re aiming to become the kind of business professional who can turn raw data into smart decisions, the Bachelor of Business (Business Analytics) at the University of Wollongong is a great fit. You’ll build a solid grounding across key business areas and then dive into the world of data—learning how to work with large datasets, uncover patterns, and translate insights into meaningful business strategies. It’s a degree designed for people who want to blend analytical thinking with real-world impact.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1

In your first year, you’ll explore the core building blocks of business. Subjects such as accounting, marketing, organisational behaviour and operations management help you understand how organisations function. At the same time, you’ll start developing your foundation in analytics through subjects like Introduction to Business Analytics (BALA201) and Data Management & Security (CSIT115), where you’ll learn how data is stored, protected and used to support business decision-making.

Year 2

Your second year takes things further, moving into the practical world of analytics and its business applications. You’ll study subjects like Big Data & Visual Analytics for Business (BALA202) and Data Analysis 1 (ECON253), which teach you how to work with complex datasets, create meaningful visualisations and interpret trends that organisations rely on for strategy and growth.

Year 3

In your final year, you’ll start using everything you’ve learned in more advanced and applied ways. Subjects like Emerging Techniques & Tools in Business Analytics (BALA301) introduce you to newer technologies shaping the industry, while the Business Analytics Industry Project (BALA302) gives you the chance to work with a real business client. It’s hands-on, collaborative and a great way to graduate with practical experience.
