The University of Melbourne Background

Established in 1853, University of Melbourne is a public research university located in Melbourne, Australia. It is the second oldest university in the country and the oldest in the state of Victoria. It is a sandstone university and a member of the Group of Eight, Universitas 21 and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities. The University of Melbourne is associated with 9 Nobel Laureates.

1. Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarships

The International undergraduate Scholarships were established by the University of Melbourne in recognition of the numerous contribution created by international students to the variety of the University’s student population.

Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines

To be thought of for a fee remission scholarship you must:

• Be a national of a country apart from Australia and New Zealand and not a permanent resident of Australia;

• Have received an unconditional offer for an undergraduate course;

• Have achieved glorious final year college results, such as:

– A minimum of four A* grades within the GCE A Levels

– A minimum of 97 in an approved Foundation program

– A minimum of a score of 43 within the International Baccalaureate (IB)

• Not have previously undertaken any tertiary studies (excluding extension studies completed as a part of a year 12 program).

2. University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships

Set up by the University of Melbourne, this scholarship is open to high achieving domestic and international pupils undertaking a Master by research degree or Doctoral degree.

Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines

To be chosen for this scholarship, one needs to have applied for and meet the entry requirements for a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne or be presently enrolled in a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne.
