Program Overview

The Bachelor of Creative Arts (Creative Writing) prepares students to work as an editor, researcher, freelance writer, publisher or author in both new and traditional fields. Initially providing an introduction to literary studies, fiction and English in the workplace, the course allows you to practise a range of written genres including poetry, writing for children, creative non-fiction and scriptwriting, and to learn about designing work for particular audiences in appropriate formats. Options such as publishing and editing are offered and you also will have the opportunity to learn about the new media. Graduates are able to demonstrate a range of skills and have a portfolio of their creative achievements that makes them attractive to a wide range of employers in the arts and communication industries.
