Program Overview

The Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) is a 5-year full-time professional degree designed to prepare students for clinical dental practice. The program integrates biomedical sciences, dental theory, simulation training, and extensive clinical placements. Students progress from foundational sciences to treating real patients in supervised clinical environments, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based dentistry and patient-centred care.

Year 1 – Foundations of Health & Science

  • Human Biology & Anatomy → Structure and function of the human body

  • Oral Health Science Introduction → Basics of dental profession
  • Population Health → Public health concepts and epidemiology

Year 2 – Pre-Clinical Dentistry

  • Oral Anatomy & Physiology → Teeth structure and oral tissues

  • Microbiology & Infection Control → Oral pathogens

Year 3 – Early Clinical Practice

Year 4 – Advanced Clinical Training
