University of Queensland History

The University of Queensland began in the 1870s with proposals for a university in Queensland. In 1874, a Royal Commission chaired by Sir Charles Lilley proposed that a university be established immediately. On the 50th anniversary of Queensland's separation from the colony of New South Wales, the University of Queensland was formed by an Act of State Parliament on December 10, 1909.

 UQ Sport and Fitness Center provides all sports and fitness facilities to students, staff, and the general public at the University of Queensland.

1. International Undergraduate Scholarships at University of Queensland

UQ International provides a limited number of scholarship opportunities for exemplary international pupils intending to study in an undergraduate program at The University of Queensland (UQ).

Eligibility Criteria/Scholarship Guidelines

To be qualified for a UQ International scholarship, you must be a newly commencing international student and able to study in Australia on a student visa.  The scholarships are open for international pupils who have completed senior high school overseas equivalent to Queensland Year 12 (eg. GCE A-Levels, International Baccalaureate, etc).

 You should be eligible for the below criteria:

Are expected to have a score that equates to a Queensland Tertiary Education rank of 96.

Are expected to not be recipients of another scholarship.

Are expected to be applying for the full program – not an articulation or requesting a credit (other than the IB credit).

Are expected to have a full unconditional offer.

Make sure the application must be complete and should include a personal statement.

Excludes quota programs.

The scholarship is not available to students who have already commenced a postsecondary qualification or who are already studying in Australia. The scholarship is meant for newly commencing students and is not open for pupils who have already commenced in studies at The University of Queensland.

2. MBA Student Scholarship Wandering Warriors

Description

The University of Queensland Business School offers up to three 100% tuition-fee waiver scholarships to Australian students who are members of Wandering Warriors Inc. Commencing in one of the following programs: the Accelerated MBA for 12 months full-time, the Streamlined MBA for 24 months, and the Flexible MBA part-time. The scholarship applications are only open to new students from Australia.

Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines

The students from the United States are eligible to contest for this scholarship.

The scholarship supports the outstanding volunteer members of Wandering Warriors who:

Meet all the MBA entry (or MBA articulation pathway) requirements, and are making the transition from the Australian Defense Force into civilian life.
