Program Overview

The Bachelor of Nursing (Graduate Entry) is a pathway for candidates who are graduates of a degree in academic areas other than nursing, are looking for a new career direction and would like to become eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (refer to Professional recognition/membership for further information). Students in this course are required to do professional experience placement (work experience) during their program of study. Certain statutory and other requirements must be met before any student is permitted to attend placement. Details of these requirements. You will: build on knowledge and skills gained from previous tertiary qualifications and develop these into a nursing practice context while being introduced to clinical practice in various health care settings. Studies include nursing and research skills, the scientific basis of nursing and ethics and law applied to nursing; explore more complex issues in nursing such as health sociology, nursing in a socio-political context, Indigenous health issues, mental health and mental illness.
