Program Overview

The Bachelor of Speech Pathology was developed in conjunction with the profession to provide the comprehensive education needed to work successfully as a professional speech pathologist. Academic components combine speech pathology professional topics with the basic sciences of linguistics, phonetics, psychology and aspects of medical science (anatomy, neuroanatomy and physiology). You will undertake extensive work integrated learning opportunities, allowing you to integrate theory with practice and develop professional competencies. This will involve 4 placement rosters with up to 2 of these as block placements of 8 to 10 weeks each, or part-time equivalent. These may be in the Adelaide metropolitan area, country areas of South Australia, Victoria and the Northern Territory, and in some circumstances, overseas.
