Curriculum Structure

Year 1

Students begin by building foundational knowledge in both law and business. Early law studies introduce the Australian legal system and legal reasoning, while business units such as Foundations of Accounting, Business in Society, and introductory business management subjects help students understand how organisations operate within economic and social environments.

Year 2

The second year develops core legal competencies through subjects including Contract Law, Property Law A, Property Law B, and Constitutional Law. Alongside these legal studies, students explore business fundamentals through units such as Foundations of Economics and begin progressing through their chosen business major.

Year 3

Students deepen their understanding of legal doctrine through advanced law subjects while expanding expertise within their selected business discipline. Depending on the chosen major, students undertake specialised studies in areas such as Finance, Marketing, Human Resources Management, or International Business, gaining practical insights into organisational decision-making and commercial operations.

Year 4

In the fourth year, students focus on more complex legal and commercial issues, examining the relationship between law and business practice. Coursework emphasises areas such as corporate regulation, legal analysis, business transformation, and strategic management, helping students understand the legal implications of business decisions in domestic and international contexts.

Year 5

The final year integrates professional legal training with advanced business knowledge. Students refine practical skills through experiences such as Trial Advocacy, studies in Legal Protection of International Human Rights, internships, and opportunities through the SCALES Law Clinic, preparing them for legal practice and leadership roles in business environments.
