Program Overview

Biology is the study of living things. Biologists study organic molecules, cells, tissues, individual organisms, populations, and communities. Biologists use the latest scientific knowledge, tools and techniques in both laboratory and outdoor settings to develop solutions across the areas of biodiversity, conservation, ecology, evolution, genetics, medical research, and molecular biology. The Bachelor of Science (Biological Sciences) incorporates field and laboratory studies in appropriate subjects at all levels and takes advantage of UOW's modern laboratories, and the superb local marine, freshwater and terrestrial environments on the South Coast and inland regions.
