Chemistry has always been present since the creation of the Institution, ESAV-MG 1926, serving mainly courses in the agronomic area. Because of this remarkable presence and its great importance in the development of the institution, shortly after the incorporation of the Rural University of the State of Minas Gerais (UREMG) to the Federal University of Vi osa, in 1969, the professionals involved in the teaching of Chemistry decided to create of the Chemistry course.
