The Bachelor's Degree in Geography, created on December 4, 1950 by Federal Law no. 1254, aims to place professionals in the labor market as technicians - researchers and consultants - with the necessary geographical knowledge to develop work in teams and individuals that contemplate the planning and geo-environmental management of territories, capable of mastering the dimensions political, social, economic, cultural spaces and their relations and mutations, in line with the current reality.

Aiming to adapt the training of Geography teachers to the current economic and social situation and, due to the process of curricular reforms resulting from the changes that occurred with the entry into force of the new Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education - Law no. 9394/96, it is proposed the Undergraduate Course - Degree in Geography, to put in the job market, professionals to work in elementary and high school, with necessary geographical knowledge and capable of researching and mastering the political, social, economic, cultural dimensions , psychological in the teaching-learning process in line with current reality.
